PHL’s foreign tourist arrivals reach up to 1.15m in Q1 2012

MANILA, Philippines (JPR) — Data released by the Department of Tourism showed that the first quarter foreign tourist arrivals in the country reached up to 1.15 million, an indication that the department has achieved 25 percent of the 4.6 million foreign tourists goal for 2012.

The Tourism department attributes the 16 percent increase in the first quarter foreign tourist arrivals to the “It’s More Fun in the Philippines” campaign.

But the challenge of bringing in 4.6 million tourists to the country by the year’s end is still far from over.
